Bujumbura Peace Marathon took place last weekend with 3000 runners. Due to delays the run did not start until 10 am which meant running in 30 degrees heat. Me and Etienne ran the half-marathon of 21 km and came in as first white female and male runners, Etienne 10 min before me. (Grrr ;( the gap is getting bigger every time). The guy who came 5th in the full marathon, pushed himself too much apparently and fell down dead after the run!
